The PTO was excited to bring Merlin from Playful Engineers back to Jacobs!
Earlier this week, Jacobs K–4 students took part in the Artful Mechanisms program, a hands-on STEAM experience where they built kinetic art using everyday materials while exploring motion, creativity, and design.
This PTO-funded program gave students the opportunity to think creatively, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life in a fun, engaging way.
We love supporting opportunities that make learning hands-on and memorable for our students. Thank you to Mrs. Ryan for coordinating this event and bringing it to the Jacobs!
Be sure to catch Merlin again at the Jacobs Art & STEAM Show on May 27th!
The PTO was proud to contribute to the cost of a school-wide author visit for Jacobs Elementary K–5 students with beloved children’s author Josh Funk.
This engaging experience helped energize literacy learning and inspired students to see themselves as both readers and writers. Josh shared his own childhood poems, drawings, and early ideas, showing students that every writer starts exactly where they are.
He reinforced what students are learning every day at Jacobs: brainstorming, revising, and perseverance are all part of the writing process.
The interactive assembly brought Jacobs Elementary together, as students helped create characters and story ideas; building creativity, confidence, and excitement around storytelling across all grade levels.
We love supporting opportunities that make learning meaningful, inspiring, and fun for our students.
